Deep in the Hindukush Valley of Chitral, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, lives one of the world's most remarkable and endangered peoples: the Kalash. Blonde-haired and blue-eyed, they are believed by many to be descendants of the armies of Alexander the Great — who, history tells us, did indeed reach these remote mountain territories during his conquests.

With an estimated population of just 3,000 people, the Kalasha are a living link to an ancient world. A dedicated museum now preserves their traditions and history for future generations. They dress in long black robes adorned with vibrant, intricately embroidered patterns — a visual language of colour and identity that has directly inspired the design of this collection.
