Chambelli Ka Phool — The Scent of a Pakistani Evening

In Pakistan, the evenings have a scent. As the heat of the day softens and families gather on the verandah for chai, the air carries something sweet, delicate and deeply familiar — the scent of chambelli, jasmine, drifting in from the garden. It is the scent of home, of belonging, of a thousand quiet, beautiful moments.

At weddings, brides are adorned with jewellery crafted from fresh jasmine flowers — bracelets, necklaces and earrings worn at the mehndi, the joyful pre-wedding celebration where henna is applied and the night fills with music, colour and the heady sweetness of chambelli.

The Chambelli Ka Phool labels were designed by Nida Zuberi, a UK-based designer and graduate of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in Karachi. The label artwork draws its inspiration from the intricate henna patterns of a mehndi night.

Chambelli — Urdu for jasmine — is the national flower of Pakistan and holds a special place in the country's culture and celebrations. At weddings, brides wear jewellery made from fresh jasmine flowers at the mehndi night. This fragrance was created to capture that scent — of jasmine in the evening air, of celebration, of home.

Chambelli Ka Phool is a rich, romantic floral fragrance built around jasmine — Pakistan's national flower. Honeysuckle opens the scent with a light, nectar-sweet freshness, jasmine blooms at the heart with its signature heady intensity, and a warm floral musk lingers softly at the base. It is warm, romantic and deeply evocative of South Asian evenings.
